Chef Manager Nancy Burgos-Jackson

Nancy Burgos-Jackson is excited to lead The British International School’s dining service program as Chef Manager. Prior to joining Cater To You, Nancy put her culinary talent to use as Executive Chef for J.C. Food, overseeing accounts all around New York City. She holds a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from New York City Technical College.

Nancy’s culinary inspiration originally came from growing up in the kitchen with her mom and dad. “They both cooked amazing food,” she says. “They were always cooking different things and let me help prep. I have very fond memories of them cooking with me.” Now, at The British International School, she enjoys seeing the smiles on students’ faces as they enjoy her nourishment. “I enjoy connecting with the students and getting to know them,” she admits. “It’s an instant gratification.”

Chef Nancy was born and raised in New York City, but has Puerto Rican and Spanish roots, evident in her paella, which she calls “a labor of love.” She also loves Mexican food, its full flavor and spice profile.

Chef Nancy is also a certified scuba diver and in her spare time enjoys doing both day and night dives. “It’s so satisfying to be under the water…and exploring,” she explains. Nancy has also spent the last eight years as a volunteer chef at The Red Door Place, where she cooks for New Yorkers in need.
